In San Bernardino, one of the most dangerous cities in the US, 30-year-old Alex Campos is released from jail. He struggles to make money and reintegrate into society. While working the drive thru he meets Meg, a 17-year-old drug-addled wild child. Their lives intertwine when Meg is caught stealing and Alex intervenes. As Alex’s financial issues stack and Meg’s desire to leave San Bernardino mount, Meg convinces Alex to rob a house. During the robbery, both are forced to confront their past, sending them on the run. As they turn on one another and more layers of their past unravel, all they have left is each other.
